Shakespeare & Me & Gin Blossoms (Week 16)

Sonnet 30

Willy `•.

“When to the sessions of sweet silent thought…
I summon up remembrance of things past,
I sigh the lack of many a thing I sought…”

Gin Blossoms >¡<

“My fear pretend… that I’ll never be in love again… It’s real to me.. but not like these fools… and not like this scene”

Me ’.,°~

i don’t break loud—
quiet knees down—
soundproof tears—
’til i meet ground.

until i fall away

Job 16:20 (KJV)

“My friends scorn me…
but mine eye poureth out tears unto God…”

  1. This piece feels like a quiet echo chamber of memory, music, and emotion woven together in such a delicate way. I love how you layered voices—the reflective tone of the opening lines, the raw lyricism that follows, and then your own words falling softly in between. It creates the sense of someone drifting through thoughts, each fragment like a note in a song only the heart can fully hear.

    1. Parshat T’ruma

Terumah no different than Shabbat which requires making a הבדלה which separates מלאכה from עבודה just as the revelation of the Mishkan separates “substance” from “form”. The Ari metaphor of the fallen klippah sparks serves as the form of the Mishkan. While: לא בשמים היא the substance of the Mishkan; the Avot worshipped אל שדי, אל, אלהים in the Heavens whereas post Sinai the chosen seed of the Avot – the Cohen people – worship the שם השם טהור מידדות/Horev Oral Torah middot within the Yatzir Ha-Tov within the hearts of the chosen Cohen people. This defines the revelation of the Torah at Sinai … a great רב חסד מאי נפקא מנא!

  2. Don’t wither away in love,
It won’t help—so try to stay put.
    Without the thud,
The heart still breaks when it’s us.
    But I will rise again from the ground;
It’s not a question of the weight or the pound,
Just stay with me, all the way around.

    1. This is beautifully written — resilient.. thoughtful.. sincere..
Your lines add a grounded heart to the piece… also love the thud line and the “question of the weight or the pound” is a clever metaphor 😊… and the closer line is beautiful… Thanks for sharing your voice here… well done as always… @`~~~

      1. You were top notch on it 👌
Yeah it was tough for sure… some are a real challenge for me also.. I normally give my self like a week to put a piece together…

Sometimes I will have a song in mind first that I want to use… and I will build everything else around it.. other times I will do my Shakespeare line first… and on occasion.. I will have words inside me.. something I’m trying to say.. and I will build around that… but yeah it’s tough sometimes 😁
