The Seafoam Birds

My Dream From Last Night

I had a moving dream last night… one very different from others I’ve had. I’ve been thinking about it all morning.

I was sitting alone on a beach. There was no one else around that I could see. It was overcast and late in the afternoon, with a light breeze gently tickling my cheeks. Behind me were idyllic, panoramic sand dunes stretching along the shore.

Suddenly, a bird flew toward me.

She was desperately trying to get my attention, flying all around me as if she needed me to go with her. I knew she needed my help.

So I went.

She led me up into the dunes, to a small nest nestled on the ground beneath the sea oats and rocket flowers. Inside were two tiny baby chicks. They were lying on their sides, completely still and unresponsive.

I gently picked up each one and lightly massaged them in my hands.

One by one, they came to life.

I carefully placed them back into the nest, and the mama was overwhelmed with happiness and gratitude. She thanked me without saying a word, in a way I’ve never experienced before.

There was something special about it.

She and her babies resembled a species of thrasher, like the state bird here in Georgia, but they were all a solid, pale green. I actually looked through color charts afterward because I wanted to know exactly what shade to call them.

Seafoam green.

The Lion Who Pulled My Chariot

My Dream From Last Night

Some of the coolest and most powerful dreams I’ve had over the years involve lions. They show up often, but what’s different is they’re never against me—they’re with me, for me, protecting and helping me.

Most of my other animal dreams are the complete opposite. I’m usually running for my life from polar bears, tigers, or something else trying to eat me. But not the lions. They’re my brothers.

Here’s the dream I had last night…

I was in a wilderness-type place, deep in a jungle. I was riding in an old Roman chariot, and we were moving incredibly fast. I say we because I wasn’t alone.

The chariot was being pulled by a magnificent beast—a lion. A male, in his prime. Massive, powerful, and absolutely fearless.

I held the reins and gave them a snap. He glanced back at me for just a moment, then surged forward. I was in charge of him.

I wasn’t sure where we were headed, but he seemed to know. He moved with purpose, as though he was on a mission.

The ground ahead was flat at first, but in the distance stood a great mountain with a road leading to its summit. We charged toward it and began climbing with incredible speed and power.

About halfway up, the lion sensed something.

His pace slowed. Then he stopped.

He turned and looked back at me. There was something in his eyes. He seemed concerned… uncertain… even worried. Not for himself, but for me.

It was as if he was trying to protect me… as if I wasn’t ready for whatever lay ahead.

The Woman in the Grocery Store

My Dream from a Few Weeks Ago

There was a season where I was writing about my dreams fairly regularly, but it’s been a fat minute since I’ve shared one. I’ve continued to have them—I just haven’t been writing them.

All my life my dreams have been constant, vivid, and unforgettable. Here’s one from a few weeks ago.

I was lying on a cold, hard floor, staring up at a tall ceiling lined with rows of fluorescent lights. It felt like a large commercial building. I could feel the cold pressing against my back and running all the way down my legs.

I kept thinking, Where am I?

I tried to move. I tried to lift my head, but it took everything I had. After several attempts, I finally managed to raise it just enough to look around.

I was in a large grocery store.

I could see the produce section. Women were shopping as though everything was perfectly normal. Then I ran out of strength and laid my head back down.

I remember thinking, How in the world did I end up here?

About that time, a very pretty woman in her 40s, with long brown hair and kind green eyes, knelt beside me, holding the gentlest smile, and asked, “What are you doing on the floor?”

I didn’t have an answer.

I just froze.

For what felt like about ten seconds, I just got deep into my thoughts as I looked at her, searching for words. Finally I said, “I don’t know… I’m not normally like this.”

She looked at me with such kindness, and in the softest, most sincere tone she said,

“Get up. I’ll help you.”

She reached out her hand, and I took it.

She helped me to my feet, handed me a shopping cart, and together we walked the aisles while she helped me find the things I needed.

She didn’t feel like a stranger.

She felt like my best friend.

Then I woke up.

It Moves When I Ask.

A Dream That Keeps Coming Back

For over a year now…
I’ve been having a dream that keeps coming back…

They are always different…
but always the same…

I had another one last night…
seems about every two months I dream it…

Last night I was driving along…
no idea where I was…
or where I was going…

I was just driving…

I pulled up to this small building…
it was a public restroom…

I went inside…

There were no toilets…
no nothing…

Except for two rolls of toilet paper
on the floor…

So this is where the dream
is about to repeat…

I felt a presence with me…

So I say aloud—
“If you’re here with me…
then move the toilet paper.”

There was a pause…
a few seconds…

As I watched…

The roll of toilet paper
slid slowly across the floor…

for a few feet…

Then it stopped…

It didn’t roll…
it was sitting upright on its end…

it just slid…

As if something invisible
made it happen…

The feeling I get when this happens…
is hard to explain…

But I experience it
every time…

So then I say—
“Ok… now move the other one.”

And as I watch…

The other roll of toilet paper
slid across the floor…

Same deal…

Then I woke up…

So in these dreams…

I always end up somewhere alone…

But I never feel alone…

There’s always a presence…

There’s always different objects…

And I always say—

“If you’re here with me…
make it move.”

It Moves When I Ask.

The Girl in the Dream… the One Who Woke Me

…My Dream from a few nights ago

A few nights ago…
I found myself in this place…
in my sleep…

I was walking…

It was a quiet… quaint neighborhood—
that felt familiar…

Middle class…
working people…
doing much life here…

I wasn’t alone…

There was a beautiful young blonde girl—
probably around 17…

…and her two younger sisters…
maybe 12 or 13…

…and a young boy…
around 10…

I’ve never seen any of them before…

—but they knew me…

…they felt like my friends…

So I accepted them…

We all were walking along…
talking… laughing…

Life felt so easy…
so simple…

As if I had nowhere to be—
nothing else to do…

…and if I did…
whatever… or wherever…
—it could wait…

I felt younger too…
maybe 18… 20…

As the five of us slowly moved down the street…
just talking…

The older girl asked me—

“Do you know my father?”

I didn’t…

I didn’t even know her…

Then she asked—

“What kind of man do you think he is?”

So I thought for a second…

And judging by his daughter…
by her character in my dream…

I figured him for a good man—

hard working…
loved his family…

She said—

“Yes… you are correct…
he is all these things…”

Then she looked deep into my eyes…
smiled…

…gently placed her hand in mine—

just to hold… as we walked…

Then she rested her head
on my shoulder…

…and I felt something—
light…
soft…

…caressing my neck…

All of a sudden—

I snapped back…
to reality—

I thought of my girlfriend…

My real one…
in real life…

I could see her face in my mind…

I felt my love for her—
she filled me…

I felt so bad…

Like I was doing something wrong—
with this other girl… even in a dream…

I tried to free myself…
pull my hand away—

…but it wasn’t that easy…

I started to panic…
just a little…

And then—

I woke up…

Thinking about my lady…

—My real one 😎’`

Now Go, and Paint What You Saw

My dream from last night…

Last night.. I dreamed I stood alone in a wild, untamed land — a place so alive it felt almost unreal. The trees burned with impossible colors, and the sunlight shot through everything in thick, glowing rays, like you could reach out and grab the light itself.

As I turned in slow circles, trying to drink it all in, a voice from nowhere said,

“Look! Here they come.”

And then I saw them.

They were ghosts — unmistakably ghosts — the spirits of Native American people, sliding out from the deep woods and rising up from the ground itself. Semi-transparent, otherworldly, they moved in long, silent lines, hundreds of them drifting past… some straight through me…

They didn’t look at me… didn’t react…

they just kept moving… wrapped in a silence I didn’t dare disturb.

It felt exactly like if you were sitting alone on your couch and suddenly the walls opened and your whole house filled with transparent figures.

When the last one passed through… the voice spoke again

“Now go, and paint what you saw.”

And I woke up — shaken and moved — knowing those words weren’t going to leave me alone.

I’m a dreamer…
all my life…

many powerful ones…

but this one
hits different…

This 👆 is a super cool video.. just found it

Also.. I don’t paint or draw

when it comes to my dreams.. I have discernment.. I know when they are from above..  I know when they are bad..  I’m also able to tell when they are just my mind.. or meaningless random stuff.. and also over time I usually get the interpretation for many of them.. that comes from above as well…

plastic kisses & venom hands

my dream from last night…

I was asleep…
then my eyes opened —
I found myself riding in a big open jeep…
rolling through a watercolor countryside…

A man and a woman sat beside me —
strangers both…
their voices touched with Aussie accents…

I was almost certain we were somewhere Down Under…

They were warm and welcoming…
laughing too easily…
yet seemed genuinely glad to have me along…

But something was amiss…
Their smiling eyes were lanterns hiding moths…

As we rolled on…
their words moved like dragonflies over water…

I realized they were a married couple —
a wealthy one at that…

Everything we passed seemed to belong to them —
the fields…
the hills…
the winding road itself…

Soon the watercolor countryside fell away…
to a stretch lined with mansions in every color…
blooming like paper wildflowers…

They said I could choose one someday…
but not today…

First…
they wanted me to see their home —
to decide whether I wished to go on with them…

Oooo Sweet!
I guess I can opt out of this dream if need be…

Ahead, in the distance…
a fire-blue sea…
its sands like crushed diamonds…

We drove right up to the edge…
got out…

The wife sent her husband away…
once out of sight…
she took my hand…
we walked… talking…

we knelt together…
shaping small castles
from crushed diamonds…

At one point…
she moved too close to my face…

We both noticed…

We paused…
our eyes locked…
we began to kiss…

In the moment…
I was overcome with sudden…
fierce passion for her…

I stepped into it with my lips…
gave her everything I had…

Then something changed mid-kiss…

Her mouth felt wrong —
fake…
plastic…

I came to, inside the dream and thought,
What am I doing…?

I pulled away…

She kept trying to draw me back…
I broke loose…

Then she sank to her knees…
her cry landing before she did…

and after a moment…

away she ran…

brokenhearted…

I looked around…
didn’t see either one of them…

In fact…
I didn’t see anyone…

The beach was empty…

I decided to go swimming…
The water looked amazing…
so I dove headfirst into the deep…

then ¡ was surrounded by great white sharks…

My dreaming ass swam out of there with a quickness…

The next thing ¡ knew…
¡ was waist-deep in a shallow stream…
the banks just a few feet away on each side…
stitched with snakes…

As ¡ looked closer…
¡ saw there were many of them…

Then a deep man’s voice said…
the creatures were a rare species…
only found here in this place…

¡ felt a shiver of dread ghost in me…
¡ gathered myself…
moved ever so slowly downstream…

but It wasn’t slow enough…

Inevitable fangs flew like caltrops.

In an instant…
¡ was hit from both sides…
bitten on my right hand…
and my left…

¡ felt the pain…

the sharp pierce of skin…

poison enter my body…

¡t burned like moonshine and blood…

¡ knew ¡ was in trouble…

everything started to fade…

then i woke up…

was just a dream…

Past the Pulpit

my dream from last night…

I was in a church filled with people — maybe a thousand of them…
It felt like home… familiar… safe…
But something in the air felt strange…
like warmth covering a quiet wrong…

I was sitting with a group of guys — my friends —
waiting for the service to start…
The room was loud with low voices and shifting bodies…
noise that feels alive
before something important begins…

Then.. a young guy stepped to the pulpit…
mid-twenties… unpolished… unguarded… real…

He started to confess…

Not in a dramatic way — not for attention
just a man tired of carrying his weight alone…
He confessed his sins…
his failures…
his sexual mistakes…
with girls in the church…

The room changed…

Whispers started…
Then snickers…
Then laughter…

People leaned into each other…
smiling behind their hands…
Judging…
Feasting on the fall of someone
brave enough to bleed in public…

I felt my chest tighten…

Not at him —
at them…

I felt angry…
Ashamed…
Disgusted…
I was pissed…

This was supposed to be a place of mercy…
A greenhouse… where things nurture…
instead.. it felt like a courtroom with no grace…

I looked around at the faces of people…
I didn’t recognize the love
I thought lived here…

I wanted out…

So I stood up…

I walked past the rows…
Past the whispers…
Past the laughter…
Past the pulpit… that was no longer an altar… but a guillotine…
and the applause for the fallen… was the new amen…

I pushed open the doors…
as I stepped outside… I felt cleansed… baptized…
free as a wet bird drenched in truth…

then I woke up…

it was just a dream…

Who knows who is both your best friend and brother…
When everyone’s deserted you…
Who’d shoot first and ask questions later…
If anybody’s messed with you…

Pretty soon we’ll all be tumblin’ like a barrel…
Thrown from the top of the waterfall…
I’m drownin’ in piranhas in the river…
Man… what a drag!

I was talkin’ to my teacher…
Said I didn’t have a clue…
I think my principles are reachin’…

An all time low…

Where She Waits

my dream from last night

I was asleep…
— until I opened my eyes…
— I was in an old town… a third world place…

Cobblestone streets…
— run down…
— falling apart…

There were people everywhere—
on the outside.. they seemed okay…
but once they opened their mouths…
— I saw they were falling apart too…

Nothing but rusted words…
— no faith…
— no hope…
— nothing good to say…
They believed in nothing…

Just empty speech… empty phrases…
— nothing on the inside…
Painted smiles that no one cares to look through…
So I shook it off me—
— continued on…

In the distance.. I could see huge pyramid-like structures…
They were white marble—
— steep…
— with hewn steps stretching across…
Carved for someone braver…
— layered one upon another…
— like a man-made mountain range…

Magnificent to look at…
— like the teeth of God…
— so high up…
— bruising the sky…
— such a challenge…

Something inside me cried out…
Something feral and buried…
I knew—
I must climb…

I started walking toward them…
— because I’m about to move up… 😉

The people started yelling at me—
Their voices like a flock of crows…
— black…
— circling…

You’re not good enough…
you cant…
you wont make it…
it’s impossible…
it’s too much…
you’re crazy…
you’re going to regret it…
you will die…
Yada… yada… yada…

Wrong words—
— like an avalanche…
— thundering down from the mountains…
Bursting into sparks as they hit me—
straight firing me up… setting my spirit ablaze…

My eyes locked…
I started to run — harder…
— faster…
— gaining momentum…
— like jets on a runway…

I took off…
— climbing higher…
— and higher…

The incline at times seemed straight up…
— I could actually feel myself getting tired…

But I kept on—
— never thought of giving up…
— never worried…
— never stopping…
— never slowing to catch my breath…

I’ve never had a better feeling in my life…
— awake or asleep…
— I felt so alive…
— so happy…
— it was unreal…

So determined —
— no one and nothing could stop me…
— nothing was impossible…

It was the greatest feeling ever…
I carried it with me all day after waking…

Mountains mean nothing…

And soon I will rest…
— on the summit…
— where she waits…
Take her hand…
— be her man…

I climb for that moment…
— a deep kiss…
— a life…
— that quiets the world below

Little by little… day by day…

And Out Come the Wolves

my dream last night… poem & story…

alone out there…
just meat… just prey…
I feed my two wolves… one red… one grey…
the fence a lie…
just meet… just pray…
away my two wolves…
one red… one gray…

I was in a backyard—
 fenced in…
 familiar…
 from childhood…

I felt younger…
 In a place
  that remembered me…

Still—
 I climbed the fence…

On the other side—
 the woods waited…
  too close for comfort…

Then the red wolf came—

Big…
Hungry…
 All teeth and motion…

No hesitation—
 just intent…

I barely made it back over the fence—
 It stopped there…
  snarling…
  growling…
  measuring the distance…

Then it faded…
 back into the trees…

Silence pressed in…

I climbed again—
 slower this time…
 Quieter…
 Tiptoeing…

The gray wolf appeared—

Not loud…
Not rushed…
 Focused…

It ran at me—
 closing the gap…

I reached the top of the fence—
 just in time…

It stood there—
 head tilted…
 eyes steady—
as if I was already chosen…
  as if I was meat…

Then the red one came back—

Side by side now—
 watching…
 Thinking…

They didn’t jump…

They searched…

They found a hole—

The fence was a lie—

They were already in—

Now they were with me—
Nothing between us…

That’s when I woke myself up—

Enough…
 for tonight…
