BarlowGirl 🎶 I Need You To Love Me 🎶 No One Like You…

BarlowGirl got their start playing together in the late 1990s as their father’s backup band — their dad, Vince Barlow, was a children’s worship musician, and the sisters performed with him at events across the U.S., eventually writing their own material during that time.

They became known not just for their music, but for their public commitment to sexual purity, modesty, and waiting on God for a future spouse — a stance that shaped their message and deeply connected with a lot of fans walking similar faith paths.

They were active in the Christian music scene from around 1999 until they retired in 2012, closing out more than a decade of ministry through music.

Over the course of their career, the band sold over a million albums and passed a million digital downloads, making them one of the more impactful female-led groups in 2000s CCM.

Jen Ledger’s connection to The Spark goes back to her early worship roots in the same church community led by Chris Marvin. Long before she became the drummer and co-vocalist for Skillet, she was serving in worship alongside the people who would later form The Spark.

That shared foundation is why her features on songs like these don’t feel like guest spots — they feel like family coming back together to worship.

Jen Ledger is one of my favorite drummers and singers… i just love her 😁

Before the charts and the stages, there were just three sisters, a living room, and a faith that needed a voice — growing up in Elgin, Illinois.

Sidewalk Prophets 🎶 You Love Me Anyway 🎶 Keep Making Me…

Some bands don’t start on stages…
they start in small rooms… borrowed amps… quiet prayers… and long drives…

Sidewalk Prophets began in 2003 on a college campus in Indiana… just a few friends writing songs about faith doubt and grace while playing worship nights and whatever doors opened…
They toured in vans… played churches and coffee shops… and learned how to carry songs into real lives before anyone was listening…

That slow road mattered… because when their music finally reached the wider world… it already knew how to sit with people…

Two songs from that journey still hit me deep…
and honestly… I think these are two of the greatest Christian songs ever…
I know… that’s saying a lot…
hey… it’s just my opinion… 😁

As a former worship leader I’ve performed many of their songs over the years… so I’ve been blessed to see firsthand how different songs affect people in different seasons of life…

One of the most powerful songs I’ve ever witnessed in that way… is Redeemed…
There’s just something about it…

I used to perform it often for the residents at a psychiatric hospital — people at rock bottom… battling depression… anxiety… addiction… lost and hurting…

And every time… it brought tears…
It brought healing…

It’s powerful…
It meets you exactly where you are…

Pre-show ritual
Before every concert.. the band has a quiet devotional time together.. then they literally walk through the venue and touch every seat.. praying for the specific person who will sit there that night
After shows.. instead of disappearing backstage.. they routinely stay for an hour or more to pray individually with people.. making them some of the last to leave the building

Hey y’all… happy Sunday… it’s good to be here with you… it’s good to be alive…

Today’s Hidden Gems come from Big Daddy Weave… both songs off the album What Life Would Be Like 2o08…

First is “Revive Us Again.”
An old hymn… a living prayer… and one that holds a special place in my story… I used to play this one on my guitar at a nursing home… surrounded by friends… surrounded by voices… surrounded by hope… those were good times..

Second is the title track “What Would Life Be Like…”All the songs on this album are special to me… they are from my ministry days… with my friends… with Beavis… with myself… I spent much time learning this album on my guitar… praising… worshipping… my King…

I also included a bonus video of Mike Weaver sharing a short story about his friend being healed of cancer… it’s beautiful and worth the watch…
