      1. It was during the time of BLM and the calling to dismantle the police departments. He was very vocal about NYPD. It left many of my friends (NYPD and FDNY) angry. I just love his music despite that. It’s weird. Him I’m fine with but Springsteen did something similar and I’ll never get over it! Weird.

      2. Oooo you just taught me something… I didn’t know this… him and I are similar… he’s was a big Bob Dylan fan growing up like me… and we grew up around the same time… both musicians into the same type of stuff… both from the south… I believe he’s from Charleston

      3. Oooo Sweet! I’ve never seen him… about him and Bob… Darius used some lines from Bob’s song “idiot wind” in his song “only want to be with you” and he had some legal issues over it… I don’t think Bob sued him but Bob’s publishers got involved over it… the lines he used was “”they say I shot a man named grey took his wife to italy… she inherited a million bucks and when she died it came to me… I can’t help it if I’m lucky”” you may be familiar with those lines in Darius’s song… it was a popular song for him

      4. I remember when I first heard “i only want to be with you ” I thought to myself… ooo Darius is going to get in trouble for that unless he has permission haha… around the time this happened… I would sit around and play and sing Bob’s song “idiot wind” on my guitar… so I recognized it immediately… this is when I first found out that me and Darius both loved Bob 😁

      5. Also Darius used Bob’s lyrics word for word haha like a couple lines 😆… Darius was a bad influence on me… I’ve been copyright infringing ever since haha

  1. A beautifully layered and contemplative piece. I love how you’ve woven together echoes of wisdom, music, and personal reflection—each voice adding a different shade to the same truth about time and transience.
The contrast between poetic lines and that quiet, almost aching self-expression—“tears run deep in dueling smile lines”—is especially striking. It holds both sorrow and acceptance in a single breath.
