I Married Her Anyway…

When God Said No…

What’s the hardest decision you’ve ever had to make? Why?

I once asked God a very serious question —
one that would shape the rest of my life…

“Should I marry this person…”

And God answered me immediately…
Clearly…
Without hesitation…

His answer was no…

I just couldn’t believe it at the time…
I wasn’t expecting an answer that fast…
and I wasn’t prepared for it to be no…
It broke my heart to hear it…

I thought I loved this person…
and I begged God
“Please God… please… make this work for me…”

For a while I wrestled with Him over it…
I turned my back on what He was saying…
I went through with it anyway…
I married her anyway…

I actually said to God…
“God I’m so so sorry for not listening…
but I can’t help it… I love her…”

It was an absolute disaster…
a nightmare…
a train wreck…
it almost destroyed me…

It lasted about two years…
when I could no longer stand it…
I turned…
I walked away…
I never looked back…

God knew exactly what He was doing…
He was trying to protect me…
to spare me… the heartache… the pain…
He had a better plan for me…

And I learned a valuable lesson from it all…

Now… when God speaks…
I listen…
I obey…

PS… I didn’t love her…
just thought I did…

18 Days Awake…

The Edge…

If you didn’t need sleep, what would you do with all the extra time?

When I saw this prompt question…
it brought back many memories of my past…
my drug days…

I went without much in those years…
including sleep…

I was reminded of the time I stayed awake for 18 days…
so I started thinking on it…
and googling…
and reading…

Apparently.. the Guinness World Record for staying awake is 11 days and 25 minutes…
so yeah…
I shattered that record…
but I’m guessing that guy didn’t have any help from stimulants lol…

Through more reading…
I learned that being awake 18 days is hanging right on the edge of death…

Guess I’m really blessed and fortunate…
because there were numerous times I would be awake around 10 days or more even.. I actually beat the world record many times… nothing to be proud of…

I am so grateful and thankful to God…
that I made it through those times…
and I am not the same today…

Death waited at the door…
but it did not win…
I walked back out of those days…
changed…
and still breathing…

I walked the line many times.. the edge…

Don’t Sweat Small Things

what matters…

Name your top three pet peeves.

Honestly I don’t really have “pet peeves” anymore..
Ever since I started walking closer with God..
most of the little annoyances I used to care about
just… lost their power..

If anything bothers me now it’s only the things
that try and steal my joy..
that pull me away from peace.. faith..
or clouds the love I’m trying to live by..

And besides..
I have an ocean to overcome right now..
so I don’t have time to be peeving..

The Squirrel That Climbed Into My Life…

What are your favorite animals?

A memory that climbed up my leg and stayed…

Animals are great.. they can be your best buddy.. your worst nightmare.. or a sandwich.. it just depends on which one you choose.. they’re diverse like that..
I’ve experienced them as all three.. I think I prefer them as friend or food..
The animal I’m about to tell you about can be either of the three…

So the squirrel isn’t my favorite animal.. but I’ve got some cool stories.. I’ve had a few as pets over the years.. and I’ve had dealings with them many times..
I once had like five babies at the same time.. it was overwhelming.. so I took them and dropped them off at a veterinarian’s office.. and said “here.. you can have these” haha…

My first ever experience with a squirrel was a memorable one.. I ended up giving her a name.. “Peanut..” She was a special little thing.. she became my buddy.. and part of my family..
One day.. I was outside.. I just happened to look down as I walked.. and there was this small baby squirrel..
I stopped and just observed.. I didn’t want to touch it.. because I wasn’t sure if maybe the mama wouldn’t come back for it.. and I didn’t want to leave my scent..
Then she started coming to me.. and to my surprise.. she climbed up my pants leg and into my arms..
and it was over.. my heart was won…

A Seat Saved For Me

Some seats were filled long ago before I arrived

If you could meet a historical figure, who would it be and why?

So there are so many historical figures I’d love to meet.. I’ve already met Jesus — I know Him personally.. better than I know anyone else — so let’s scratch Him off the list…

George Washington is one that fascinates me.. Most people don’t know the hidden pieces of his story.. It was like he couldn’t be killed in battle — as if something.. or someone.. was watching over him.. I believe that someone was my friend Jesus..

Native warriors supposedly had a name for him that meant “the man who couldn’t be killed by a bullet.” Maybe that part became legend over time… but the testimonies are wild.. After the 1755 Battle of the Monongahela.. one unnamed warrior said..

“Washington was never born to be killed by a bullet! I had seventeen fair fires at him… and.. after all.. could not bring him to the ground.”

And there were more stories like that — one after another — people watching him walk through battles untouched..

But as interesting as all that is…
I think I’d rather meet my own family members — the ones who lived and died long before I was born..

About five years ago.. I started digging into my family history.. and there are so many I wish I could sit down with.. Some of my great-great grandparents had incredible stories.. One grandmother even had the same birthday as me.. Another ancestor lived a remarkable life.. I’d love to hear in his own voice.. and one grandmother died just before I was born — she was excited to meet me.. but she never got her chance..

I have famous relatives too — Richard Nixon.. William Penn.. John Penn — and ancestors who came over on the Mayflower.. I even discovered relatives who were directly involved in the Salem Witch Trials..

So yeah…
as great as the heroes of history are.. I think the people I’d most want to meet are the ones whose blood runs through my veins… the ones who helped shape my story before I ever breathed..

What book am I reading right now? Well… this one found me more than I found it…

What book are you reading right now?

“The Devils Mistake” by Eira Wulfnothsson and “Celebrate Every Life… Even Mine” by Nan Panman

Not long ago.. I was watching a documentary.. and there was a woman on there who said some things that hit me deep.. I don’t know why.. but her words stuck in my mind.. So I googled her.. Ended up on her website.. Read about her life.. And then I realized why she stood out to me..

She’s an ex-Luciferian occultist who became a Christian…..

That alone fascinated me — but when I found her testimony on YouTube… man.. The depth she was in.. the darkness she lived in.. the way God rescued her… it shook me.. Because I could relate more than I wish I could.. I’ve had my own brushes with that same evil.. I once tried to sell my soul.. I know the pull of that darkness.. I know the cost..

So I reached out…
We ended up emailing..
One thing led to another.. and she invited me into her YouTube community and her podcast.. Pitbulls of the Lord…

She’s smart.. sharp.. grounded.. And because of her past.. she understands the kind of spiritual warfare I’ve been dealing with in a way most people can’t.. She’s been there.. She survived what I almost didn’t…

She’s Roman Catholic, and I’m not — but honestly? I don’t care.. Truth is truth….

Her book is called “The Devil’s Mistake…”
And let me tell you… I couldn’t put it down.. I read the whole thing in a day and a half.. It was powerful.. profound.. it’s on my list of best reads…

Her name is Eira Wulfnothsson..
If any of this sparks something in you — look her up.. You might be surprised by what you find…

Also.. I recently read a friend’s book.. it’s also a Christian testimony story of God’s power and love throughout the life of this woman.. her story is similar to mine and Eira’s…. it’s also tremendously powerful… so check her book out… her name is Nan Panman.. and the book is called “Celebrate Every Life… Even Mine”

If I Could Live Anywhere… 🇵🇭

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

If I could live anywhere in the world.. I believe I would choose the Philippines…

I’ve been blessed to travel a bit — Singapore.. Argentina.. the Philippines — mostly through missionary work.. But something about the Philippines💥just stayed with me… The people there are warm.. kind.. joyful.. and welcoming in a way that’s hard to explain but impossible to forget …..🇵🇭

It’s a place that felt like home the moment I arrived… and if I could live anywhere… that’s where I’d go ….💥

I’m still strongly connected to the people there today… and will always be… I message on whatsapp often with my friends there… also.. my ex-girlfriend is Filipino… she and I were together for like five or so years… she taught me much💥about life.. culture.. and the language.. today we are just good friends …💥

I almost forgot to mention how stunningly beautiful it is there… the mountains… the beaches… unlike any other…

I found an arrowhead once.. so flawless it felt placed there for me…

I was fishing an old farm pond once… I just happened to look down… and there it was… at my feet… a flawless… white indian arrowhead… about the length of a pinky finger… such a cool find… I’ve never found another… and I don’t have it anymore… it got lost while moving…

Famous People I Know… Famous People I’m Related to…

Who is the most famous or infamous person you have ever met?

So I know some famous people.. let’s start with Sterling Winfield… him and i hung out some back in 2006-08… we don’t talk today… I could tell you many cool stories about my time with Sterling… here’s one… he once called on the phone from inside a limousine with Kid Rock and Pam Anderson…💥

Also.. I am friends with Pastor Bill Bailey… he is the top southern gospel music promoter in the nation… from 2009-13.. I met and hung out with so many Christian music artists and groups through him… here’s a few… Jason Crabb.. Adam Crabb.. The Issacs… many others associated with Bill Gaither….💥

Also… I’ve hung out with Victor Wooten and Steve Bailey… Victor is one of the best bass guitar players in the world… he hangs out with Dave Matthews…💥

Also… from my in-depth study of my family tree.. I found out that I’m related to.. President Richard Nixon… William Penn.. for which Pennsylvania is named… his grandson John Penn… signer of the declaration of independence… also.. my ancestors were directly involved in the Salem Witch Trials…💥

But the most famous person I know…….. my LORD… my SAVIOR… my KING… my GOD… my FRIEND… that sticks closer than a brother… my ALL-IN-ALL… JESUS CHRIST… do you know HIM?…💥

Yall should have known that was coming… 😆😁😛…💥

Also… the most infamous one I know is Lucifer… we had a falling out in 2006.. I haven’t spoken to him since…💥

So what does all this mean? Absolutely nothing…..🏳

Only one of these matters to me…💥 everything else under my sun is simply vanity…💥
