Questions involving commenting on people’s post.. maybe someone can help?

I’m new to WordPress and to blogging… this is my first ever blog.. and I just started writing about my life past 6 months.. before I was primarily a song writer.. but my question is about comments here.. I notice sometimes when I comment on people’s post.. they aren’t always received.. it’s been happening a lot.. for example.. I tried several times to leave a comment for someone.. and it just won’t go through.. so I gave up.. it shows the comment posting.. but then a lil later.. I go back and check and it’s not there.. but yet others are just chatting it up there 😅.. so what’s the deal?.. someone help me

    You could try just saying “HI” on my comment page. You won’t see it posted immediately because I moderate comments. Some bloggers do that to screen out hurtful or offensive comments. It may take some time for me to reply but I will let you know when I check my blog. Other blogs may not be set up correctly.

  4. For first-time commenters, the person whose blog you comment on has to moderate – approve or disapprove – of the comment. I don’t think that everyone is as responsive as you might be, and sometimes people spend little time checking their blogs.
    But you are not alone, I have it happen also.

It’s probably the moderation setting on the other person’s blog (mine is set in a way that I have to approve the first comment from someone, but then automatically lets all future comments from them through – but some people have all comments blocked until approved) – that said – WordPress goes through some glitchy phases on different devices too. Some times I get “comment not loaded” style prompts on everyone’s posts on a particular day when I’m using my phone… then a month later its my ipad that’s blocking me… sigh… stay at it though, building community through comments is one of the best parts of blogging!       1. Live and learn is the only way on WP – but from what I can tell from talking to others, it’s still infinitely better than Medium or Substack so stay the course – it’s very rewarding to slowly build up a little crew of like-minded people!💕
