šŸŽ™ļøSongs From the Bathroom #19

šŸŽ§ This Week’s New Song

The past few days, I’ve woke up with this song on my lips, along with some drool because I’ve been sleeping like a sedated arctic fox lately.

Take It Back by Sister Hazel.

I’m a huge fan, and I do most of the ones from them, but I’ve never tried this one. So late last night, I messed around with it, and as I got into it, I realized the words reminded me of a past relationship.

The only time I ever said ā€œI do.ā€

But what I meant to say was… Wait, wait, hold up! I mean, no, no, I don’t!

Sometimes when I’m attempting one for the first time, I’ll slow it down. For instance, with this one, as I began, I decided at the last minute to do it in a different key. Also, I’m not doing it the same as Sister Hazel. For the most part, I kept the same progression, but I changed it up some in the moment as I felt.

    1. Hey Mike, you’ll have to share a recording with the Zoom H2 some time, so I can hear. Have a good weekend bro… it’s me Bryan lol it’s showing me as anonymous cuz I commented from my other browser.

      1. lol! np Bryan – actually, the audio from my last post was done with the Zoom. you can see how much fuller it is compared to a regular recording device. although i edited it to produce more bass and took out the high pass filter, it still sounds better than everything else because it’s a 32 bit raw file. i’m sure that if i tweak it some more and have better surrounding acoustics this thing would be that much more amazing!

      2. it’s kind of difficult because you have to take the micro SD card out. i don’t think you can transfer either by bluetooth or by connector. i may be wrong but yeah, i’m taking out the micro SD card each and everytime to import the file over to Adobe Premiere Pro

      3. Plus when I really think about it, my recordings don’t have to sound super perfect, as long as they are good enough. That way I can maintain some of the raw vibe I’m going for lol

  1. Hey Mike. Oh you got the Zoom! That’s awesome. You’re welcome. I was planning on getting it also like we talked about before. But these two apps I got now are doing what I needed for the moment lol. I’m not doing anything fancy tho. Just the Bathroom stuff. So yeah the Lexis Audio Editor and the other is called Wave Editor. I’m impressed with both so far.

    1. actually, you know what Bryan. i’d probably hold off on getting the Zoom because it’s really a situation-based thing if you want to get that full 32 bit audio and i’m rarely getting into those recording situations. and plus, your audio sounds great. because our surrounding acoustics are just different and i will usually go outside, we just edit differently. but the way you have it set up is great. if i didn’t know, i probably would say that you are using a 32-bit audio receiver – that’s how good your edits sound on the low and mids.

      1. Ok cool. I’m glad mine sounds alright. Plus I think I want to keep the simplicity of the whole bathroom vibe thing. Just a guitar, a voice, and phone recording, not a fancy piece of equipment lol but man yours sounds so good. I’m glad you got it.

      2. yeah for sure Bryan, thanks again for pointing me in that direction. it functions well when I just take it out for an audio recording and am not worried about shooting footage.

And I totally agree, with having to move the micro SD card and such it’s more of a process than it should and I guess that’s the tradeoff for 32-bit float. but for what you’ve produced in your setup – the mids and especially the lows – it’s great!

    1. Oh thank you. Appreciate you checking it out. I feel ya. Yeah I often wake with different songs. It doesn’t matter whether we can carry a tune or not. We carry it anyway and be ourselves and have fun with it. 😁
