Outlaw Roots — The Hank Jr. Legacy (Week 11)

Dinosaur 🎶 All In Alabama

Sup yall… got two of my favorites for you today…

If I was ever forced to make a top 10 list of Hank songs… both of these are on it—no question.

I’ve played ’em hundreds of times over the years…
for myself… when no one was around…
and for plenty of others along the way…

And honestly… it’s been a little while…

So I think I’m gonna grab my guitar later…
sit back… and run ‘em both again…

Just me… the strings… and that old feeling…

But for now… let me quit talkin’…

and let’s get this thing goin’… ♩♪

Hope yall have a great weekend…
and don’t be like Hank and go fallin’ off the side of any mountains 😄♩♪

      1. Thank you my friend 😇
        Wishing you a happy weekend…
I have a loooong list of songs by you that I haven’t heard. I’m planning to do that and would be then adding them to my list ♥️

  1. Ok Bry you are on my listening list tonight! Can’t wait. I’m watching Hofstra NCAA game right now. Can’t wait to catch up!! Hope you get to chill and play later! 😊

    1. Oooo yeah that’s right! It’s that time of year… my team never makes it… so I have to usually find me a Cinderella to pull for as everything starts to unfold… thanks for being a loyal listener… enjoy the game… : )

      1. We have St John’s at 5! Who is your team? My childhood friend was the coach at Boston College. We are very into college ball!

      2. It’s Georgia… they made it… but I heard they got knocked out already lol… when they do make it… they don’t last long… I didn’t get to watch

      3. Yeah same thing as last year… but at least they are starting to show up… the university of Georgia isn’t known for basketball anyways… but maybe one day that will change

      4. Yeh football mainly… also have a good baseball program… and women’s gymnastics and golf they are like top programs in the country… basketball has always lacked

      5. Me too… I went to a Christian college… where did you go again? I think I read it once but I forget

      6. I went to a Catholic College in NY – College of Saint Rose. We had sports but they didn’t compete in higher divisions until way after I left. The college is gone now so that’s over anyway!

Hofstra lost. St John’s on now…it was at 7. We got that wrong.

      7. Ahhh ok yeah seems I remember you saying Saint Rose… in one of your post I read… and bummer… hopefully you get the next one

  2. Now that’s a vibe…
There’s something timeless about going back to songs that have lived with you
not just heard, but felt over the years.
“Just me… the strings… and that old feeling…”
yeah, that right there is where music becomes memory.
Hope the guitar session hits just right… and brings a little Alabama soul with it. 😄♩♪

    1. So true man… and the songs hit differently when they are lived… and the guitar session was great… I’m just getting back to playing again past few weeks… it’s been great… I took a break from the guitar for 3 years… thank you for checking them out

  3. I was in Nashville for the Country Radio Seminar one year. While standing in the bathroom Hank Jr. walked up to the urinal next to me on one side and Kid Rock came up to the urinal on the other side. Talk about awkward.

    1. Haha wow man! What a cool story!.. I’ve seen Hank in concert a few times… but never met him… funny you mention Kid Rock though… I used to have a semi famous friend… he’s a well known music producer… I haven’t spoken with him since like 2o08… but my roommate at the time and I were on the phone with him… while he was riding around in a limo with Kid Rock and Pam Anderson… I could hear Kid in the background talking… you’re story is much much better than mine 😁… that’s so cool… thanks for sharing 👍
