The Lion Who Pulled My Chariot

My Dream From Last Night

Some of the coolest and most powerful dreams I’ve had over the years involve lions. They show up often, but what’s different is they’re never against me—they’re with me, for me, protecting and helping me.

Most of my other animal dreams are the complete opposite. I’m usually running for my life from polar bears, tigers, or something else trying to eat me. But not the lions. They’re my brothers.

Here’s the dream I had last night…

I was in a wilderness-type place, deep in a jungle. I was riding in an old Roman chariot, and we were moving incredibly fast. I say we because I wasn’t alone.

The chariot was being pulled by a magnificent beast—a lion. A male, in his prime. Massive, powerful, and absolutely fearless.

I held the reins and gave them a snap. He glanced back at me for just a moment, then surged forward. I was in charge of him.

I wasn’t sure where we were headed, but he seemed to know. He moved with purpose, as though he was on a mission.

The ground ahead was flat at first, but in the distance stood a great mountain with a road leading to its summit. We charged toward it and began climbing with incredible speed and power.

About halfway up, the lion sensed something.

His pace slowed. Then he stopped.

He turned and looked back at me. There was something in his eyes. He seemed concerned… uncertain… even worried. Not for himself, but for me.

It was as if he was trying to protect me… as if I wasn’t ready for whatever lay ahead.

  1. Bryan, this dream holds such profound wisdom. The lion you’ve described isn’t just powerful, he’s wise. He knows you hold the reins, but he also knows something you don’t yet. And when he stops and turns to look back with concern, that’s the moment of real mastery.

Because true power isn’t about always surging forward. It’s about knowing when to pause. The lion “seemed concerned… uncertain… even worried. Not for himself, but for me.” That’s protection at its deepest level. That’s someone, something, that loves you enough to slow the charge.

What strikes me most is that you’re ready to acknowledge you might not be ready. That’s spiritual maturity. The fact that the lion has this concern suggests he knows something about your readiness that even you’re still learning.

This dream is telling you to trust the protector in your life, whether that’s the one pulling your chariot or the one within. 🦁

    1. Thank you so much for taking the time to write this. I really appreciate your thoughtful reflection and the wisdom you shared. There is a lot here for me to sit with and reflect on.

I love how you pointed out the importance of recognizing when we may not be ready and being open to learning through the process. That really resonated with me.

Thank you again for your encouragement and for sharing your perspective. It means a lot.

  2. What a fascinating and beautifully symbolic dream! 🦁✨ I love the contrast between the animals you usually fear and the lions who appear as protectors, companions, and brothers. That makes this dream feel especially powerful.

The image of you holding the reins while a magnificent lion pulls the Roman chariot is extraordinary. It suggests strength under your direction—but the most intriguing moment comes when the lion stops halfway up the mountain and looks back at you with concern.

  3. The symbolism in your dreams is incredibly strong. That’s something I always notice! I think you must possess the strength and wisdom of a lion. It is why you are accepted as part of their pack – like you said they are your brothers.

    1. Thanks, I appreciate that. I have an idea about it. The very first lion dream I had was back in like 96 or 97… and it shook me and I jumped out of bed, grabbed a notebook and wrote it all down. I knew it was from God.

Then years later I found out what it all meant… it was Him showing me that He would be with me through all these attempts to take my life from these guys and not to worry. That He has me.

So when I have these lion ones, I know to pay attention to them. That It’s a message for me.

    1. That’s very cool that you can relate. The very first lion one I had was back in like 97 I think it was but the lion in that dream was God and it turned out to be prophetic, giving me a glimpse of things to come in my life. I found all this out years later

I mean if you believe in all this right? 😁

      1. I sure do! In my dream the Lion was Jesus. It was such a powerful, beautiful dream. Knowing even though everyone I’ve ever loved had betrayed me, but Jesus, was here and always with me.
        Oh so good!!!
