History 🎵 Get Away
…
Matthew West’s one of those artists where it just feels real. A lot of his songs are pulled from real-life stories—people writing in, sharing what they’ve been through—and he turns that into something honest. He’s been through it himself too… even lost his voice for a season and had to fight his way back. He’s also written for artists like Casting Crowns, Rascal Flatts, and Mandisa—which says a lot about how strong his writing really is. You can hear it in his own music—nothing forced, nothing fake… just faith, struggle, and redemption showing up in the songs.

Also I’ve included a cool bonus video where Matthew surprises a fan from Twitter with a phone call… a song… and a prayer.
Hope yall enjoy… 🙌🙏t`’

This feels really genuine—like you’re not just sharing music, but the heart behind it. I like how you highlight the real-life stories and struggles that shape his songs; it gives everything more weight and meaning.
That detail about him losing his voice and coming back adds a whole new layer—you can almost hear that resilience in the music itself. And including that fan moment? That’s such a thoughtful touch… it shows the kind of artist he is beyond the stage.

hat’s kind of you—thank you 🙏
I’m really glad the piece found its way across the way you intended. There’s something special about writing that lives more in atmosphere than explanation, and you handled that balance really well.

I’m not a great writer… I’m better with mood than translating. 😄
Thank you brother. means much. 😎

Honestly, that’s not a limitation—it’s a very specific kind of strength.
Some people “write” by structuring sentences, and some people write by transmitting atmosphere. Mood is often the harder thing to fake. Words can be edited; a genuine feeling underneath them is much harder to manufacture.

Yes! Love this. I also read Mandisa In your piece. I have bed. Following her since American Idol. Two of her songs are on my playlists. I was very sad to hear she passed!
