Outlaw Roots — The Hank Jr. Legacy (Week 20)

In the Arms of Cocaine 🎶 Footlights

Hey yall… it’s after 3am for me. I’ve had my headphones on for a while just letting the music run… letting life run…

I landed on these two tonight…

🎶 In the Arms of Cocaine — from Strong Stuff 1983

🎶 Footlights — from Rowdy 1981

I can relate to both of these…

Those arms are no place to be.

Slow burns… bad turns… live… learn…

and try not to kick out the footlights out again.

Thanks for listening.

  1. This is a beautifully honest and reflective post. There is something uniquely powerful about those quiet hours after midnight when the music seems to understand things that are difficult to put into words.

I appreciate the way you connect these songs not just to memories, but to lessons learned. “Slow burns… bad turns… live… learn…” says so much with so few words. It speaks of experience, resilience, and the wisdom that often comes from taking the long road.

    1. Thank you brother… I’m glad it resonated with you. Those late night hours have always seemed to bring a little extra honesty with them. I think most of us collect a few slow burns and bad turns along the way, but hopefully we learn something from them. I appreciate you taking the time to read and leave such a thoughtful comment.
