Hi friend! Loved these. Redeemed was my fave. Great job on guitar there. Was it fun to play? It’s so rythmic!!
Is that young Bryan in the pic?

Hey there! Thank you much… yeah both of these are fun to play for me… I first started playing Redeemed around 2o12… it was a favorite with people in my music ministry back in the day… the other one I probably first did around 2oO9… I think it was and yes that’s me in the pic haha… my mama said that she heard a noise… looked in the kitchen and saw me… she grabbed my dad and her camera… and I guess that was the moment I smiled like that cuz I realized I was caught… 😁 but thank you again. I’m happy you enjoyed it.

Thank you Robert.. I sure appreciate your kindness… also I read your pieces always. I think you’re great. I’m not a big commenter but I need to do a better job at this in the future haha… is it OK to call you Robert?

Thank you, Bryan. I truly appreciate your kind words and support. No worries! I typically go by Tristan, but I am not averse to my middle name! 🤣 Robert is fine, if you prefer. Thanks again, my friend. I am truly glad our paths crossed.

You’re welcome bro… I mean Tristan haha. My middle name is Loia and I’ve never went by it in my life. Like no one has ever called me that until I started blogging. It still feels a lil weird. Usually after I get to know someone a lil bit on here I’ll have them call me Bryan 😅 I’m glad too about the paths thing.

Fair enough! I certainly understand. For what it’s worth, I love your middle name.Bro, Tristan, Robert…just not late for dinner, as they say. 🤣 I’m honestly fine with whatever name works for you. Rock on, my friend. 🤘😎

Love the strumming pattern in Redeemed. I play the Uke; I go to class each Wednesday. Strumming styles really make a rhythm pop out, eh 🙂 Nice work!

Thank you. Oh wow that’s so cool that you play the Uke! How long have you been playing? And yes for sure about strumming styles.

Nearly 9 years. I started as an absolute beginner and was so excited to learn basic chords. 9 years on we get together every Wednesday at 5.30 and have a strum, play easy songs to warm up then our teacher throws in a challenge. Great fun! An hour of as much laughing as singing 😉

Man that’s just awesome. I bet that’s one of the highlights of your week. Lol @ as much laughing as singing 😁

Yes, Wednesday 5.30 – 6.30 is Uke time. We’ve had a long break as our teacher is away with school holidays but we start back next week. I’ll have to get my uke out and give the strings a stretch! I’ve not practiced in 5 weeks, life has been a bit hectic so it will be good to regroup…pardon the pun!!

I used to tell people back in the day, when they asked me things, that I can play most anything with strings but I totally forgot the Uke, I’ve never tried it. I’ve never even held one lol

It’s easy! Im left handed but I play right handed as its easier to use my left for finding chords and right just to strum.
I’ve had ‘learn to play a musical instrument ‘ on my bucket list (but it wasnt called a bucket list in the 70s lol, it was just a ‘wish list’)
Since my early teens when my brother played guitar and drums. He wasn’t in a band, he played for himself, it was his hobby.
So I quietly dreamed of learning to play something; I had no idea what. Looking at sheet music was another language to me so I wondered how I would ever learn to play without knowing how to read music.
Decades passed. Then I met a woman in a tennis group my husband belonged to. We all went away on tennis long weekends on public holidays. And what did she bring.. apart from her racket…her uke! She knew 4 chords and she could strum up a storm. So that planted the seed.
Years later we moved to Warwick, Queensland…I learned if a Uke class in town. I got a uke for my birthday. I started classes. The story is a bit longer than that, but that’ll do, haha. So yeah. I love my uke. 11 years on, always something new to learn and find a chord that gives me happy goosebumps!
Ooops..this is a long answer.. sorry!

That’s such a cool story! I’m happy you got to fulfil your dream and learn the Uke, and many musicians can’t read music, it’s not a requirement 😁… I’m a little weird though, I could read music a lil before I ever started learning guitar and piano. I was in chorus all through elementary school and into high school and learned there. Well I wish you the best and may you get continual goosebumps 😁😎

We had our first class for the new term, last night. Our fingers felt it as some of us haven’t had much/any practise. Had a great hr of music 🎶 🎵 😌

Woohoo that’s awesome! I’m glad you had a great time. It’s so cool for me now because I can say I know a Uke player 😌😎

Im going to do a post about 1st class back for the 3rd school term. I did a random silly post about monents ladt night…I might do that weekly abd hopefully readers will feel inspired to add a moment they’ve had, in the comments 😊

Haha, I love that! That’s pretty cool that your fame is reaching across the seas. 😄
I think the weekly moments idea is a great one. Sometimes the little random moments are the best ones to share.

Apologies for those typos, I missed them when I checked before sending. The keyboard on my phone is too small!
That should read: I’ll let my teacher know we are being thought about across the seas”
I try, but depending on the speed of my finger, as to the likelihood of a few typos 🤦♀️

I knew what you meant 😁 I have the same issues with the typos and my fingers are too fast and fast for lil phone keyboard
